Liquid Technologies to spread services to remote areas

Lusaka, June 13, 2024, ZANISInternet service provider, Liquid Intelligent Technologies says its new partnership with leading global satellite operator Eutelsat, will allow the firm to spread its services to the remotest parts of the country.

And Liquid Intelligent Technologies says the firm is committed towards supporting the Government’s agenda of attaining internet access for all.

 Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, the firm’s Chief Executive Officer, Mark Townsend described the collaboration as a milestone in internet service provision in the country.

Mr Townsend said the combination of fibre internet with satellite technology will be a game changer for the communication sector.

“Our partnership has changed the face of connectivity once and for all. Combining satellite connectivity with fibre connectivity will provide these high capacity enterprise grade solutions,” he said.

Mr Townsend said the collaboration will improve internet connectivity as the firm will have access to other options in an event that fibre network may encounter a challenge.

He added that the initiative will further enhance the firm’s capacity.

“What this partnership does is that, it allows us to take high capacity internet connectivity in these remote places which was not available before. This means we can take digital products and services to those areas,” he said.

In 2023, the government attained 58 percent internet coverage beating the initial target of 56 percent.

Liquid Intelligent Technologies is present in all provincial centres and has a fibre network spanning over 12 thousand kilometres across the country.
