LUSAKA CENTRAL CONSTITUENCY RECEIVES WATER BOWSER

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mulambo Haimbe has handed over a water bowser worth over One Million Kwacha to Lusaka Central Constituency.

The water bowser has been procured under the 2022 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) emergency component allocation.

ZANIS reports that speaking during the handover ceremony Mr Haimbe who is also Lusaka Central Member of Parliament reaffirmed the government’s commitment to addressing the water crisis and other pressing challenges countrywide.

He explained that the 20 Thousand liters water bowser that has been procured will benefit the community as it will alleviate the water shortage crisis that has come as a result of drought the country experienced.

Mr Haimbe stated that in the next few months, Bauleni will fully be connected to the main water network under the Lusaka water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) that will permanently cushion the water problem in the area.

“As much as we understand the difficulty we are faced with, during this passing phase, I would still like to appeal to ZESCO to strategically manage the supply of power to the affected areas so as to allow the pumps to run and our people to draw water for use”, he said.

Meanwhile, Kabulonga Ward 19 Counselor Kosamu Tembo expressed concern with some politicians who are sending people to vandalise public properties.

Mr Tembo said public properties do not belong to an individual but to all Zambian citizens hence, no one has a right to vandalise what belongs to the public.

He urged Lusaka Central residents to guide the water bowser jealousy in order for it to benefit the community effectively.

And a Bauleni resident Kelvin Mtonga thanked the government for providing them with a water bowser.

Mr Mtonga noted that people in his area, especially women, cover long distances with buckets in search of water and sometimes wake up at awkward hours risking their lives.

“We are very happy because the coming in of this water bowser will end the water shortages and our women will now access the water without struggling”, he said.
