TEACHERS WARNED FROM ENGAGING IN PARTISAN POLITICS

Rufunsa District Commissioner Richard Mabena has called on Teachers to desist from partisan politics.

Speaking when he toured some schools in the District, Mr. Mabena warned teachers against engaging themselves in partisan politics,as they were civil servants who needed to render their services to the Government of the day.

Mr. Mabena warned that any teacher that would be found wanting will be disciplined according to the law.

“If you are engaged in partisan politics the law will visit you and I can assure you that we won’t hesitate to discipline you”, said Mr. Mabena.

And Teachers in the District expressed happiness that the District Commissioner had visited their respective schools.

Some teachers expressed happiness on the increased Constituency Development Fund (CDF) adding that it has transformed the learning environment in many schools in the district.

Chipindani Primary School Headteacher Clive Musaka expressed gratitude to the government for having increased CDF.

Mr Musaka revealed that through the CDF the school has managed to construct a 1 by 3 classroom block and VIP toilets

“We are happy, CDF has helped us build more classes, the only challenge we have is water because our borehole is damaged and pupils are forced to walk long distances to fetch for water”, said Mr. Musaka

And Mphashya Secondary and Primary Schools headteacher Nelson Kanyinj also thanked the Government for the CDF.

Mr. Kanyinji said teachers were implementing government policies such as the free education policy and the school feeding programme.

“We are grateful to the Government for the feeding programme, learners now don’t miss classes”, said Mr Kanyinji
