MULYATA ASSURES OF GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO YOUTHS

Lusaka Province Minister, Sheal Mulyata says the government is committed to ensuring that no one remains behind in its developmental agenda.

Speaking during a United Party for National Development (UPND) New Year youth tournament held at Chitemalesa ground in Rufunsa district, Ms. Mulyata says government is committed to improving the well-being of the youth hence the need for the youth to take advantage of government empowerments programmes under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

She said the government wanted youths to be active so that they could contribute positively to national development.

“Your government under the able leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema does not want to leave anyone behind in its developmental agenda and am urging you especially the youth to take advantage of the empowerment component under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to venture into viable activities”, said Ms. Mulyata.

She added that under CDF there was no education background or political affiliation required to access it because the President had said the money was for all Zambians.

Rufunsa Town Council Chairperson, Kennedy Mailoni also urged the youths to take advantage of the empowerment programmes that the government had put in place to improve the well-being of its citizens.

“The government through the Local Authority has embarked on a number of empowerment programmes through the CDF which is released every year among other programmes like the recent Cash for Work which the youth can benefit from”, said Mr. Mailoni.

And speaking at the same event, Chief Bunda Bunda commended the government for its developmental programmes that are improving the well-being of the people.

Chief Bunda Bunda said the increased CDF was indeed a game charger as most of the infrastructure for service delivery had been constructed.

He further called on the youth to embrace sports as this was one of the strategies that the government was using to discourage youth from engaging in bad vices.

The New Year Youth Tournament was sponsored by Ms. Mulyata, Kennedy Mailoni and Chief Bunda Bunda at a cost of K17, 000.00.
