Government has urged the associations for drivers and traders to remain active in supporting society, in order to foster the spirit of unity embodied in the One Zambia, One Nation motto.
The Ministry of Health, during an inspection of sanitation levels at City Market in Lusaka, noted with gratitude the gesture displayed by the City Market Drivers Association through a donation of 4000 bags of mealie meal to traders and other members of the public.
Acting Minister of Health, Douglas Syakalima, says the government remains dedicated to maintaining a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
“Unity and proactive participation are key to ensuring a healthier environment for all,” he added.
Meanwhile, Lusaka Province Minister Sheal Mulyata has urged traders to maintain vigilance and prioritize public safety.
Speaking during the same event, the Minister encouraged the traders to report any activities that threaten public peace to the authorities.
“We want this peace to continue. Every Zambian deserves to live happily and enjoy their right to life,” Ms Mulyata underscored.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament for Kanyama Constituency, Monty Chinkuli said it is impressive to see drivers engaging in philanthropic activities.
