Vice President Mutale Nalumango has eulogized the late Chilanga District Commissioner David Sheleni, who died on March 14, 2025.
ZANIS reports that speaking during her visit to the funeral house in Chilanga, Ms Nalumango described the late Mr Sheleni as a leader who was committed to change and served the community for the better.
Ms Nalumango indicated that the late District Commissioner was a leader who valued teamwork and thus his death is a loss not only to the family but also to the government.
She added that the very lesson should leave a legacy of commitment, which was demonstrated by the late DC.
Ms Nalumango also encouraged the family to stay strong during this trying moment and pledged the government’s support.
Mr Sheleni died in the early hours of March 14, 2025, at his house following an illness.
The late District Commissioner was appointed in November 2021, a position he served until his death.
Mr Sheleni will be laid to rest on March 18, 2025, at Memorial Park Burial Site in Lusaka.
