LUSAKA DC URGES CONSTANT MONITORING OF CDF PROJECTS

Lusaka District Commissioner, Rosa Zulu has directed engineers at the Local Authority  to regularly supervise Constituency Development Fund  (CDF) projects in the district to ensure  quality works  are executed.

The District Commissioner noted that some contractors are not closely supervised resulting in shoddy works being done on some of the projects in the district.

ZANIS reports that Ms. Zulu said this when she inspected maternity annexes being constructed using CDF in Mandevu constituency.

“What I can say is that the engineers should up the game” she directed.

Ms. Zulu further advised the local authority engineers to work with the district works supervisor under  her officer in verifying projects which are due for commissioning.

The District Commissioner further instructed the local authority and other stakeholders in implementing CDF projects to empower the local residents.

Ms Zulu expressed happiness with the construction works at Kabanana health facility and encouraged the local authority to ensure the local residents benefited from the projects.

“This contractor is coming from Mandevu constituency and is working with people from Mandevu, This is what we are asking for and this is what the president has been talking about”, she emphasized.

Mandevu Member of Parliament Christopher Shakafuswa echoed the need for intensified monitoring of CDF projects in his constituency.

Mr. Shakafuswa urged the engineers supervising the CDF projects to utilize the allocated resources to ensure quality construction works are done.

“Government has given the land cruiser for monitoring and we have enough fuel, why are we not supervising the works? He wondered.

The duo inspected maternity annexes being constructed using 2024 CDF allocation at Ngo’mbe, Kasisi and Fumbelo health centers .
