Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary Joe Kalusa has handed over three million kwacha to successful applicants in Matero Constituency under 2025 Constituency Development Funds (CDF) allocation.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Engineer Kalusa who was represented by Lusaka Province Assistant Secretary Gideon Mwanza said that the funds are meant to drive the development of the country through constituencies
Engineer Kalusa noted that CDF projects and programmes are owned by the communities in various constituencies.
“As a constituency you have decided to use part of the 2025 CDF to empower 50 groups with loans to improve businesses”, he said.
He added that it was the government’s agenda to promote business ventures.
“The idea is to recapitalize your businesses so that they become bigger and more profitable”, Eng. Kalusa explained.
And Lusaka City Mayor Chilando Chitangala urged the beneficiaries to use the money prudently.
Meanwhile, Matero Member of Parliament Miles Sampa, said that the funds under CDF allocation will be spread across the constituency to ensure it benefits all.
