Lusaka Province Permanent Secretary, Joe Kalusa has called on Zambians to pray for love, unity and reconciliation as the country prepares for the National Day of Prayer, Fasting, Repentance and reconciliation slated for October 18.
ZANIS reports that Eng Kalusa also reminded the faith-based organisations to pray for President Hakainde Hichilema.
Speaking when he received a bible as part of the National Bible Marathon organised by the Bible Society of Zambia, Eng Kalusa added that President Hichilema has done a lot for the country hence the need to continue praying for him.
Eng Kalusa further urged faith-based organisations to pray for President Hakainde Hichilema.
He noted that God has gifted the nation with President Hichilema who fought for the country for 23 years while in opposition
“Now that he is there do not cease praying for him, continue praying for him”, he said.
And Seventh Day Adventist Publishing Director, Moses Banda said the National Bible Marathon which was designed by Ethical Institute of Academy and the Bible Society is meant to engage the nation in reading a chapter every day.
Pastor Banda noted that the Marathon will enable citizens to love, reconcile and unite through the word of God.
” The concept is to engage the whole nation and be able to read chapter every day, it’s a marathon which as a nation we are doing in three days and we will have a grand finale on Friday where we are going to see the head of state read a scripture and other leaders”, he said.
