President Hakainde Hichilema is on Tuesday next week expected to officially open the 2025 Southern Province Investment and Trade Exposition in Livingstone.
The high-profile event, to be held at the Livingstone Golf Club, aims to showcase the province’s vast investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships for sustainable economic growth.
ZANIS reports that Southern Province Minister Credo Nanjuwa said over 80 percent of preparations have been completed, adding that the stage is set to host investors, entrepreneurs, and development partners from across Zambia and beyond.
Mr Nanjuwa described the expo as a significant milestone in the government’s agenda to promote regional industrialisation and investment.
“President Hichilema’s presence underscores the government’s commitment to promoting inclusive development and creating a business-friendly environment that attracts both local and foreign investment,” he said.
Mr Nanjuwa has also indicated that the expo will help draw investment toward infrastructure upgrades, including the revitalisation of the Livingstone Golf Club, which will serve as a lasting legacy of the event.
Meanwhile, Livingstone Mayor Constance Nalishebo Muleabai said the city is ready to host the President and all invited guests, adding that the city’s vision extends beyond tourism to becoming a hub for manufacturing and innovation.
“Hosting the President and this expo gives Livingstone a platform to demonstrate its readiness for industrial growth and youth empowerment,” Ms Muleabai said.
The week-long event will bring together investors, policy makers, and the private sector to explore new business prospects and partnerships in the province.
